KH. Hasyim Asyari

Today is English class for me and my friends. All of students must describe about social figure, education figure etc. But, before it the students prepare their figure picture. Many preparation for describing of figure, like the picture of figure, how to explain it?, the sentence and others. And this is the conversation between Diyah and Aan about KH. Hasyim Asyari:

Diyah  : hai Aan, look at this! This is my figure picture.

Aan     : hallo Diyah, who is he? It seems that, i don’t know before it..

Diyah  : oh my god Aan, are you sure?

Aan     : yes, i am Nahdlotul Ulama member, why about it?

Diyah  : oh my god, KH. Hasyim Asyari was the leader of NU and he was also the organizer of NU.

Aan     : woow really? How can i don’t know about it?

Diyah  : oh Aan, what a pity you are! Do you know Aan? KH. Hasyim Asyari was the hero of Muslim. He was very brave person. He would not respect to sun and Caesar of Japan, he also brave provide material support Muslim from military of Japan. KH. Hasyim Asyari have to torture by military of Japan, his fingers also be hitter until broken by them.

Aan     : wow, oh my god! How can be? What the military of Japan have not kindness in their heart?

Diyah  : yes, maybe Aan. Early i think like that, maybe you will ask why did they do like that?

Aan     : yeah Diyah, oh i am very shocked.

Diyah  : because like a said before Aan, KH. Hasyim Asyari will not follow them. He choose to protest them. In his opinion, the human only pray to god and not pray to sun or Caesar. And do you know about Islamic boarding in tebuireng jombang?

Aan     : yes, i know. That is Islamic boarding’s gus dur and in there also grave’s gus dur. Right?

Diyah  : yes , that is right Aan. But there, actually KH. Hasyim Asyari built that Islamic boarding and actually his family disagree about it. Why? Because in tebuireng is popular village with gambler, thief, criminal and others. His family recommend him for living in other place. But, he is said “if i stay in place consist of many kind people and have many knowledge. So i don’t need to change or teach him”

Aan     : waw, this is true? Did you lie to me?

Diyah  : oh no Aan, that is true.

Aan     : OK, and then do you know about the educational background of KH. Hasyim Asyari?

Diyah  : oh i know. From the writing that i read, KH. Hasyim Asyarai ever studied in Langitan, Rembang, Madura and he also studied in Makkah for 7 years. There he followed wahabi group, but in indonesia he did not teach about wahabi group. He followed Imam Syafi’i or Madzhab Syafi’i.

Aan     : oh, like that. Now i have understood about KH. Hasyim Asyari. Ok Diyah thank you for this information.
